Paleo Challenge Results

Drumroll, please! We are very excited to announce the winners of our fall Paleo Challenge. Like every other time, this decision was very difficult to make. Each and every one of you who stuck to the challenge worked very hard โ€“ we saw you showing up here early on weekend mornings, working extra hard on your goals, mobilizing, and stretching. These are all the keys to success, and we hope you will continue these practices now even though the challenge is over.

Choosing a winner is always tough; itโ€™s not just determined by who lost the most weight or who had the most points. To win, you needed to log consistently, have a good point total, and see consistent improvements across the board in your weight, measurements, and workouts. Check out these great results!

Anne Marie had such drastic changes to her baseline measurements that when she weighed in at the end, I had to measure her twice because I was convinced I had messed up the numbers. Those pictures certainly speak for themselves! As a relative newcomer to CFS, it was great to watch her make such drastic progress in such a short time. We canโ€™t wait to see what is next!

Have you seen Coolidge lately? He looks like a different person! The Paleo Challenge wasnโ€™t all smooth sailing for him. In the beginning, he was tired, felt weak, and had no energy. Rather than abandoning the whole thing together, he made some adjustments to his diet and kept showing up to the gym. In the end, he walked away with some amazing changes in body composition, along with improvements in all of his baseline workouts. Very impressive!

Colm had one of the most impressive food and activity logs of the whole challenge. Every detail was logged โ€“ serving sizes, workout times, muscles mobilizedโ€ฆ everything! His attention to detail certainly paid off. He had amazing PRs on nearly all of his benchmarks and saw some great physical changes as well. Way to go, Colm!

Dannybeforeafter
Honorable Mention

We also want to give a special shoutout to Danny Madrigal, our honorable mention winner!
Total Points: 737
Weight Loss: -8.2 pounds โ€“ 4.5% of his weight!
Waist: -3.5 inches
Hips: -3.5 inches
Prize: Choice of Southie Swag
At the beginning of the challenge, Danny told me over and over again, โ€œI canโ€™t give up rice.โ€ But take a look at that point total! He certainly didnโ€™t cheat with riceโ€ฆ and he didnโ€™t even miss it! The physical transformation has been incredible, and his performance in classes has improved week after week. He is noticeably faster and stronger and crushes workouts at 7am each day. The only reason Danny was out of contention for winning was that he did not retest all of the final workoutsโ€ฆ but we know he would have crushed them!

Congratulations again to all of our winners and to all of the participants! We hope you all learned something about your bodyโ€™s nutritional needs and will keep up with these good habits as best as you can during the holidays.

Did you miss out on this Paleo Challenge and are you now regretting it? No worries! Be sure to check out the Nutrition Tab at the top of the page, or stop by the front desk to grab a paleo packet. Itโ€™s never too late for your own personal paleo challenge!

More work on squat cleans for strength. WOD – 18:44 Front squat and squat clean instead of OHS and Squat snatch. One day my shoulder will work enough to do these movements again.
