Barbell Club


COVID Update:  We are open for indoor and outdoor Class options and Open Gym. For more information on our Socially distanced CrossFit classes or to sign up, please click HERE.  If you are interested in a smaller group that focuses on the fundamentals and ramps up your fitness over the course of your first month, Fundamentals is for you.  Our next sessions begins 6/1.  More information can be found here.

Barbell Club – We are not currently offering Barbell Club.  We plan to add these classes back in soon.

1-oly-split-jerk-682x1024We also offer a dedicated Weightlifting program. If you’re looking to improve your technique and become more comfortable with the technical lifts, these class will be an excellent addition to your weekly routine.

Classes are held in the Toaster (near the desk in Southie Green) Saturday’s at 11am.  If there is enough interest we will add an additonal class on Wednesday nights at 7pm.  Each class will last an hour and will be dedicated to one lift.  We will alternate between the C&J and the Snatch and specific accessory lifts.

The focus of each class will be on the technique of either the Clean and Jerk or the Snatch. Classes will start with a warm up, move into accessory exercises/drills, and then work the main lift and finish with squatting.

These classes will be a great opportunity for you to spend a full hour dedicated to the most complex lifts we do in the gym. The skills you learn in these classes will not only increase your 1 rep max lifts, but they will transfer over to your regular WOD scores and overall fitness. Who knows, maybe you’ll even find yourself buying a singlet and competing in an Olympic lifting meet one day!

Barbell Club meets on Wednesdays at 7pm. These classes DO count toward your weekly total of classes. Check out CrossFit Southie’s schedule to drop in for a class!
