2016 Southie Showdown: November 12 & 13
It’s that time of year again! The 2016 Southie Showdown is fast approaching, and we’d love to have as many of you involved and representing CrossFit Southie as possible! The Showdown is our biggest event each year: a two-day individual competition of over 250 athletes from all over the Northeast. The competition is tough, but also fun and friendly. It’s an excellent chance to throw your hat in the ring and compete. You’ll even have home field advantage! With three divisions this year, there is a place for everyone – from first time competitors to Regional athletes. Kick your training into high gear and register!

For more details on the divisions and standards, please click HERE. If you’re unsure of which division you should compete in, ask a coach the next time you are in class. Registration will open TOMORROW (10/5) and will sell out quickly, so be sure to mark your calendars! More details about registration will be released in the next few weeks.

Not planning to compete? No problem! We highly recommend everyone come by that weekend to check out the event. It’s an awesome opportunity to see the competitve side of CrossFit. There will be tons of cool vendors set up selling and sampling their product. You’ll also get to cheer on your WOD buddies who are competing and meet some new members of the local CrossFit community. It’s an awesome weekend!

If you’re looking to be a bit more involved, we need your help! We need judges! With over 260 athletes, it takes tons of help to make the event run smoothly. If you can count and are familiar with CrossFit movements, we can teach you how to judge – no previous experience required. All judges will receive a free t-shirt and lunch each day from Connector Cafe (yum!). Anyone who signs up to judge for both Saturday and Sunday will be entered into a raffle to win a new pair of Reebok Nanos! To sign up to judge, please click HERE!
