    Whitney Moves Home!!
    By Dan Stebbins โ€” Aug 14, 2014 9:33am

    Friends of #FightHardy,

After so much hard work and perseverance, I am proud and extremely happy to announce that Whitney has moved home to our Watertown apartment!! She is settling in nicely and just helped me with a full Stop and Shop run to stock our fridge. She is excited to be home and will need some time to adjust to her new surroundings.

I can’t begin to convey how excited and happy I am to have her home and to get back to a somewhat normal life and routine for her, home cooked meals, normal day to day activities and fun outings while making this new apartment our home.

She will be continuing out patient occupational, physical and speech therapy at Community Rehab Care just 5 minutes down the road. CRC specializes in traumatic brain injury rehab and I am confident that in her comfortable surrounding she will continue to improve! She is also set up with an outpatient Physiatrist at Spaulding as well as a primary Care Physician and a Neuro Psychiatrist both at Mass General Hospital. We are also getting further along down the path of setting up appropriate services through the Massachusetts Rehab Commission, the Statewide Head Injury Program and MassHealth to make her transition to the community and her stay at home successful.

Thank you everyone for all the support and well wishes, cards, phone calls, gifts and donations. It all helps towards setting Whitney up for success and continued improvement. We would love to continue hosting visitors and guests, so please let me know and we can schedule outings, dinners, lunches, or just a stop by to say hi!! We cannot wait to make our first trip back out to Truckee to see all the FightHardy friends and supporters!!

We will continue to keep you all updated on her progress and her milestones, but this one is huge for her and for me as well:

    2/20/14 – 4/4/14: Boston Medical Center ICU

    4/4/14 – 7/9/14: Spaulding Rehab Hospital

    7/9/14 – 8/13/14: NeuroRestorative Facility

    8/13/14: Home Sweet Home!!!

All our love from the Hardys and Stebbins!!
