Cassidie, Our In-House Care Giver

New Babysitting Service at CrossFit Southie!
We are very excited to announce the addition of childcare to our schedule at CrossFit Southie! We hope this will give all of the parents in our community a chance to work out without stressing over who will be watching their little ones. We are going to start this out with one class per week to see how it goes. We’re looking forward to meeting all of your little ones on Saturday mornings! Check out the details below:

When: Saturdays, 9:00 – 10:30AM (Starts next Saturday, April 22nd!)
Where: Southie Green in the back room (This room will be closed to athletes during this time)
Rules:
• Parents must stay in/near the building the whole time
• Open to children ages 5 and under
• No diaper changes
• No snacks other than bottles or baby food packets
• Will be capped at 6-8 kids. Signing up in advanced will eventually be required, but just show up for the first one until we get a feel for demand!

Our in-house care giver will be Cassidie Cade, a long-time member of the CrossFit Southie community. She has tons of experience with childcare, is CPR certified, and just an all-around great person to be around. We are psyched to have her! Read below to get to know Cassidie a bit more:

Ever since the age of 8 I have been eager to be hands on with children. Whether it was assisting my mother with my newborn brother or keeping my 3 year old baby sister occupied, I always enjoyed helping. Middle school was filled with “mommy helper” days after school, then evenings and weekend babysitting became my only source of income in high school. Shortly after getting my driver’s license I began nannying full time in the summers for three children ages ranging 2-12.

Not much changed in college when I got another nannying job in Wellesley second semester of my freshman year. At the time the youngest was 1 and the oldest was 5. These two balls of energy characterized my college afternoons for 4 years. Pick-ups, drop offs, dinner, showers, games, errands, parties, appointments; you name it and we did it! In a blink of an eye I graduated college, got a real job and they are now 6 and 10!

Summer after college graduation I ran a “Cassidie Camp” in a back yard in Wellesley. Six children all 5-6 years old showed up every single day for organized activities and a special lunch. That combined with other evening and weekend babysitting kept me occupied until I joined the real world summer of 2015. I currently work for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and do some light babysitting on the side. I am so excited to have the opportunity to babysit again and get re-involved in the Crossfit Southie community! Kids or no kids, come say hi!
