From everything on this blog and FB it seems like this weekend was awesome…sorry to have missed it.
Congrats to all those who competed!
“You train for this”
I want to thank who ever put this caption up yesterday. I missed the Showdown because I was in NJ at a regional bowling tournament. Saturday was the biggest cluster f*ck I’ve experienced as a competitive bowler. Sitting my my hotel room Saturday night I thought about packing up gear and driving back to Boston. Then the nightly CFS update appeared in my phone and I read “You train for this.” D*amn straight I do. I went back over my day and formulated a new game plan for Sunday which worked out well.
I guess should relate my ramblings back to crossfit. Bowling and crossfit are very different sports but both require mental toughness. As an athlete we are only in control of our performance. Equipment malfunctions, poor officiating and other distractions are part of the competitive arena. Mental toughness is the ability to perform in spite of all the distractions. Also I’ve learned at CFS that every workout won’t be a PR, sometimes we just have to grind it out until the clock stops…
i echo the sentiment in regards to the event, absolutely FANTASTIC JOB Amy, Goose and ALL the judges and volunteers. i too will not be partaking in chippedy do dah, as this weekend was my last as an official member of CF southie. i must thank all the coaches for all you’ve done for me over the last 2 years. AMY & Goose, you guys have something truly special going on here and i’m going to miss everyone and all the commaraderie. i can only hope to get some semblance of this community at my new box in everett. i will be making the occasional “special guest wod appearance” every now and again. thanx again everyone for all that you are!

Might do this one again later if my legs decide to wake back up…Great job to everyone that competed yesterday…Such an awesome weekend Amy and Goose and to everyone that volunteered and judged, very thankful for how well the WOD’s were put together and the finals were awesome to watch…can’t wait for next year!

I am with the others on this. No Chippedy Do Dah for me today.
Big thank you to everyone who helped out this weekend! Great work.
Amy and Goose you guys ROCK. Those Finals were amazing to watch.
8:52 this workout was sort of like a cash out for the weekends festivities.
I must say, the finals tournament to end the competition was one of the best spectator events I’ve been to in recent memory. The head to head aspect along with creative short and challenging combos were awesome. I was very glad to be a part of the entire thing. Great job everyone!

Great job and big thanks to Amy, Goose, all the coaches and all the volunteers for a great event! It was a lot of fun and I think the final wods were so exciting to watch! Great work everyone!
I am with Tim an JBo – done with this workout for awhile. I also echo JBo in thanking the CFS team and all of the judges and volunteers for hosting a phenomenal event.
Yeah I will be recovering and singing chippedy don’t dah. In all seriousness, guys…I heard SO many people say that the event was just amazing and that you came up with really awesome workouts. Very proud to be part of the CFS family.
I was afraid this was going to happen… 🙂
Il see you guys Tuesday or possibly Wednesday!!
I defiantly won’t be coming in to do this one again
