Thanks to everyone for coming out to such a great event hosted by CFNE on Saturday. The overwhelming support and smiling faces from the Southie crew made the day much easier for all of our competitors. “Big Crusty” aka “The Bear” aka “Bubble Jacket” Mark Urso continues to shine on game day as he dominated “DT” and took home 7th overall in the competition! Pat “Mr. Rambo” Padgett continues to improve with each competition. He put up an impressive performance in the Double Under/Thruster WOD and an even more impressive performance on the dance floor of Tequilla Rain, teaching everyone how to Dougie later on that night. He finished 18th overall on the day. First time competitor Brian Fenton had one of the fastest 500m row times on the day, although he didn’t account for the 4oom he had to run immediately after it. He showed a lot of heart in his first competition taking home 6oth, rounding out the top half of all the male competitors. Your favorite female Coach, Amy Ferro, continues to move up the ranks as a serious female competitor. She was able to throw 105lbs around with the best of the women during the first event, which was inconceivable only a short time ago. She also showed much more efficiency with skill movements such as pull ups and box jumps. She placed 19th on the day. Coach Chris (me) finished 15th on the day and enjoyed nearly every minute of it, except of course for those 10+ minutes of “DT.” Thanks again for all of your support.
