Garage Games Northeast Three: CrossFit Southie, November 12th & 13th
On November 12th and 13th CrossFit Southie will be hosting the New England Finals; an individual competition to complete the first ever 3-part Northeast Garage Games Series. Located in what was once considered the “hardest” area of Boston, CrossFit Southie occupies two 4,000 square foot industrial buildings that were originally cannon factories in the late 1800s. The buildings have been restored since, but they still carry a thick industrial feel. CrossFit Southie is located close to Copley Square, the Boston Seaport, and Downtown Boston. There are plenty of places to stay and lots to see if you deicide to make a trip out of the event.
The two-day competition is designed for competitors new to CrossFit, fire-breathers, and everyone in between. It is a last chance to compete hard in the crisp fall air before the winter rolls in. There will be 5 events in the two days. The final results will crown the most well-rounded individuals. The RX athletes need to be proficient in moving 95/65lbs through all traditional barbell variations, and must be able to do unassisted pull-ups. The scaled division must be proficient in moving 65/45lbs through all traditional barbell variations, and must be able to execute pull-ups with a medium sized band (typically they are blue or purple). This is a great first time competition, but will also please the veterans. We hope that you will join the fun!
We are less than a month away. If you haven’t signed up to compete yet, do so now..registration is almost full. If you do not wish to compete but would like to contribute, we are looking for judges and volunteers.
Volunteers are provided a t-shirt from Reebok, Judges get a t-shirt, and if they are certified they get shorts and shoes from Reebok as well!
If you would like to judge please go here and read the directions.
***I believe there was an error in the system prior to this week. The only judges/volunteers I have from Southie are Carlene and Megan C. If you registered to volunteer or judge please go back through and register again so that you get the proper attire and that we have you in the system. Sorry for the inconvenience. Also, if you have verbally told me that you want to help I need you to still register. Thanks so much.***
