    I know we’re were supposed to go for 4-5min, but I really wanted to try the 80#. Like many posters, legs were toast from last night but a PR by 35# and 2+ minutes is pretty exciting.

    This was my first time doing Grace Rx.

    Push Jerk 195 x 1 (PR) I didn’t ring the bell because I wanted 205. Two attempts at it but I couldn’t lock it out.

    WOD 5:44 L2 I walked in planning to attempt this RX. I didn’t have any aggression on the platform during the strength sets so I psyched myself out of it.

    Pre-Class: Max Pull ups – did 19 reps (PR by 1 rep)
    Push Jerk: 180×1 (PR by 15lbs!) – I was SOOO psyched and kinda shocked on this one because it’s usually not my best movement. But now the PR is better than my split jerk. Better breath control, focus, and Amy rephrasing the triple-extension as just “straightening out” seemed to REALLY help!
    WOD: 5:41 L2 – first time doing Grace. I was looking to get below 6 minutes, so I’m happy, but definitely can shave another 20-30 seconds off this the next time…
    Closing remark: Don’t know what it is, but Coach Haley really seems to always get the best work out of me. Thanks buddy! : ) Also nice to have Jenna in the 4:30 class the past couple of days!

      Oh…and almost forgot. The 180lb push jerk was 5lbs more than my year-end goal of 175lbs. 11 goals down, 14 to go for the last 3 months!

    I’m so very glad that Coach Jones gently reminded me to go easy out of the gate, I have this terrible habit of starting off on WODs similar to Grace like a crazy woman and then I disappoint myself by getting so tired midway through that my time is crap. And I quote myself, “Chuck, I’m looking for sub-8 tonight.” I LOVE surprising myself by actually listening to the coaches advice on how to approach a WOD. Nicely done 4 pm!!

    225# push jerk – took me four attempts but I got it. Really pumped about that after not being able to get a 225 jerk on my C&J for the paleo bench mark.

    3:12 RX grace. Quads were on fire the whole time. Not sure if that’s normal for Grace or if it’s related to the rowing/squats yesterday.

    Cash out was tough.

        Thanks Barrow. Once again I was chasing Rollins – I think he beat me by about 10 seconds. And I think Dave F was done when I was at 20. Looking forward to tackling this one again.

    STR: 175 lb. x 2 (light). I did not have time to work up to singles.
    WOD: 7:09 Rx. First timer here as well. I definitely plan to approach this differently next time.
