Paleo Challenge Winners

The Paleo Challenge ended last week and we have decided the final winners. It is interesting how everyone is always really pumped at the beginning of the challenge, and by the end only about 25% cared to add up their points or weigh-in. For those of you that took part in the challenge but never followed through with the final results, I hope you learned something and feel a lot better!

Here are your winners!!! Winners- please find me this week for your cash prizes 🙂

Mark McCaul took the first place finish by losing a total of 16.2lbs, which is 6.7% of his total body weight. His waist went from 45 inches to 41 inches, and his hips dropped from 47 to 43 inches. Mark finished with a point total of 1084 for the month, which when looking at his point log demonstrated that he really never cheated, all of his 3 day blocks had over 100 points. His mile run time went from 8:21 to 8:03. Congratulations Mark on all of your hard work!!

Second place is awarded to Kyle Miller. Kyle lost a total of 7.4lbs (3.88% of his body weight) and 1.5 inches off his waist and 1 inch off of his hips. Kyle had an impressive point total of 1,154 for the 30 days, which meant he didn’t cheat and did all of the extras pretty much every day. What was most impressive was the improvement on his mile run. During his baseline Kyle was racing behind Ranjith trying to catch him and finished with a time of 5:43…blazing fast. On his retest Kyle was able to shave 8 SECONDS off of his time to finish with a 5:35 mile. Incredible. He walked it off when he finished like it was nothing. Congrats Kyle!! woot woot

Finally the third place finish goes to Darin Bibeau. When I weighed in Darin you would have thought I backed over his puppy with the Southie mobile, he only lost 4.4lbs which was 2.2% of his total body weight, and dropped an inch off of his waist. I could understand his disappointment seeing that Darin was 100% dedicated to this challenge. At the end of the 30 days Darin had a total of 1,170 points, for those of you who have no idea about the point system, this is basically as good as someone can possibly do. As many of us know, weight really can mean nothing in some cases. Darin proved this when he dropped his mile from 9:45 to 8 minutes flat!! I watched Darin run his baseline mile, and trust me…there was no way he was milking it. Obviously, paleo really did something for him seeing that he dropped a minute and 45 seconds off his mile time in a 30 day period. Way to go Darin! You da man bro.
