Hate to even bring this up, but some of the judging by Toasties were questionable. Specifically, the judges that focused on the wall ball height and not the depth of the squat. As games competitors, we know what does and does not count. Yes, your judge should communicate if you are or are not meeting the movement standards, but that doesn’t mean sandbag the movement if they aren’t no repping you. Thankfully, the athletes/judges who I am referencing won’t impact the Regionals/Games scores/rankings, but as experienced cross-fitters we need to know the standards and hold everyone accountable.
Sorry to rant, just trying to give everyone a heads up going forward because poor judging reflects on the entire CrossFit box, not just the judges that miss a few no-reps. We have some of the best athletes in the region (that do uphold standards) and it would be a shame to ruin a year of their hard work due to few illegitimate scores.
agreed
If there are no movement standards being upheld then there’s absolutely no point in being judged or keeping score.
Judges: be firm out of the gate. Once you allow an athlete to get away with a bad rep it’s difficult to regain control of the standard.

Unbelievably frustrated with this. MUps felt good pre-WOD and I basically forgot how to kip or something b/c they just weren’t happening in the workout. Stayed after and did 15 post-WOD MUps to work out the kinks. If I can get my ass out of bed on Sunday, I’ll probably give it another shot b/c the wallball/dub buy in isn’t too bad – I know I can hit a couple of MUps if I have 3+ minutes left like I did today.

13.3: 246, same score as last year
Got through the wall balls and DUs in 7:44, bombed out on the MUs and only managed 6. Failed 3-4 MUs because I wasn’t getting through on the transitions. I don’t want to do this again but I might have to.
