Bye Bye Moach Crazely

Maze when he first started at CFS...looks a little different doesn't he?

I am sad to officially announce that Moach Crazely, aka Maze or Joe, is leaving CrossFit Southie to join the Reebok One coaching staff in Canton. Maze is a great coach, athlete, and friend. We wish him all of the best with his future as part of the Reebok team. Maze’s last day will be Thursday (tomorrow), so make sure you give a great big hug, a butt slap, and wish him good luck with the new gig. Lucky for us Maze lives in Southie and will still be competing for the Southie team at Regionals, so it’s not good-bye for good 🙂 You will still find him hanging at the box on the weekends, and at Stats….of course.

When one door closes another door opens! Christina is now a full-time staff member and with the new expansion we will be releasing and updated class schedule with some newbie classes and competitor classes. That schedule will be released in the next week or two. With that new schedule you will find everyone’s favorite flannel wearing strongman hippster T.J. O’Neil taking over a chunk of the classes. Haley Byrnes has also come on as a floating coach, as well as Chris Harris, and you can expect to see a few other new faces as well. Lots of awesome coaches up in this piece!

To all CrossFit Southie family: Thanks guys – this is definitely bitter sweet for me. When I first came to CrossFit Southie a year ago after being medically discharged from the Marines I was in a dark place. Had it not been for all of your encouragement and friendships I do not know where I’d be right now. You all have truly changed my life and I have never been more satisfied and happy with what I am doing in my life – I will forever be grateful for that.

To the all the coaches: Retta, Lando, TJ, Christina, Nick, Chuck, and Alec: Thanks for all the fun we’ve had together over the past year and all you have done to help me grow as a coach and person. I will definitely miss hanging out with you guys everyday. Stats on Fridays???

To Amy and Goose: I would be no where without you two. Your friendship, guidance, and mentorship has been amazing. Thank you for pushing me to be better every day and seeing something in me that I initially didn’t even knew existed; and believing in me at times when I did not believe in myself. You guys are like my older sister and brother and words can seriously not express my gratitude for how you have helped me to become a better coach, athlete, and more importantly, person. I love you guys.

To the Affiliate Team: LETS KEEP KILLIN’ IT

See you guys all next weekend, (and at Stats too!!)

Love (yeah I know I can come off a little rough some times, but seriously)

Mazeman, we were truly blessed to have you everyday as a coach and a friend. Every time party rock anthem is played in the box we will have a moment of silence in your absence. I speak for everyone when I say best of luck, you will be greatly missed.

Will definitely miss you Maze. Thanks for turning my life around. Wish my last WOD with you could have been a bit more inspiring but at least this old dude finished! Hope there’s some crazy CFS farewell roast coming up. If so, I’m all in!
