If you click on the schedule you will find lots of new classes. As I am sure most of you have noticed, but up to this point we haven’t had an on-ramp program in place for beginners. The level 1 and level 2 classes will be a requirement for the new members who start after the schedule takes effect. The level 1 and level 2 classes are NOT exclusively for beginners, they are for anyone who wants a more detailed overview of the movements being covered that day, and for those who want to be surrounded by athletes of their same level. Southie is a really unique box, we have a ton of serious athletes who are tough to keep up with; the level 1 and level 2 classes will allow members to work seperate from the elite, and for some may make for a more positive experience. If you find that you are using level 1 & 2 weight/modifications don’t be afraid to give these classes a try at least once. You are always welcome in the All Levels classes, but it could really help your progress by getting the extra attention.
The schedule is not the same Monday through Friday. Make sure you look at the schedule before you come in. The Monday/Wednesday/ Friday schedule is the same for the most part, with the exception of the Olympic Lifting class on Monday nights, and the Friday afternoon classes. The Tuesday/ Thursday schedule is similar as well, with the exception of Yoga on Tuesdays at 4pm. We have also added some open gym hours scheduled throughout the week. In the next day or so, we will provide with a printable version of the schedule that will be easily readable.
Open Gym Hours do count towards your weekly total of classes. There will be a coach present during open gym hours to supervise and help athletes with skill work. If you have only been doing crossfit for less then 6 months you cannot train exclusively during open gym hours. You must take at least one class/week. Working out in a class setting is what produces the most progress and the most efficient results. Unlimited members have the right to utilize as many open gym hours and class hours as they wish during the week. For 2x/week and 3x/week members the open gym hours will count towards your weekly total even if they are back to back hours.
Lastly, the schedule is not set in stone and may be subject to change. We are providing more class options in hope of extending our community while providing more opportunities for all of you to get better. If a class become slower than others we may drop the class. Also, we are always open to opening up class hours if there is enough interest, so please let us know if you have any ideas for classes/class times. *The new schedule will go into effect Thursday morning.*
