Chuck’s Last Day 🙁
During our grand opening back in 2010 we were approached by a very kind gentleman named Charles Jones. He wanted to become involved with our community and was interested in doing some coaching. I remember stalking him on Facebook and thinking, “who is this strange creature?”, and “why didn’t Charles tell us he prefers to be called Chuck”?

There was a period of time right after we opened that Chuck would show up during night classes and help out on his own time because he loved coaching and loved CrossFit. After a month or two we offered him some money because we didn’t want to take advantage of all of the time he was putting in. Chuck was adding value to the business and building relationships with members for no other reason than his enjoyment of helping people and bettering himself as a coach. This is what led us to offering him a full-time position here at CFS 3.5 years ago.

Chuck has grown as coach tremendously over the years. His soft, yet militant, presence has always been both inviting and demanding of our respect and attention. The jokes and odd side comments have kept us entertained during classes. There is never a dull moment with Chucky. You always know that Chuck is there during your workout. I have always loved taking his classes because he stays engaged until the very last rep. And his high 5’s are the best.

You always know what you are going to get with Chuck. Always early, always present, never in a bad mood, always willing to listen, always helpful, and never judgmental. He has one of the kindest souls we have ever encountered and feel very thankful that he has been with us practically every day since day 1. Chuck is family and we are going to miss him very, very much.

Chuck, you are one of a kind and will never be replaced! We love you very much and wish you much success and happiness in your next life chapter. Stay weird and please come by as much as possible!!

Bob Caslin: 3rd Place 2016 CrossFit Games, 60+ Masters Division
We could not be more happy and proud to report that for the second straight year, Bob finished standing on the podium and is taking home some hardware from the 2016 CrossFit Games! After a grueling weekend of competition, Bob entered the final workout in 8th place. The final event was announced as 27 Pull Ups followed by 2 Rounds of DT (12 deadlifts, 9 hang power cleans, 6 push jerks). The twist? With an axle! Bob absolutely destroyed the workout, passing by every other competitor to take home a first place finish. His amazing performance catapulted him into third place overall and left him standing on the podium at the end of an amazing weekend. Congratulations, Bob!! We are SO proud of all of your hard work and all that you accomplished. Stay tuned on Monday for a full recap of Bob’s weekend, but for now, check out this video of Bob’s dramatic finish in the final event.
