Fittest On Earth

bobpodium
Wow, what a weekend! Please join us in wishing the biggest of congratulations to our very own Bob Caslin. Bob spent last week in Carson, CA competing at the CrossFit Games and finished on the podium in 3rd Place in the 60+ division. Third place in the world!

To put that in perspective, consider this: At the start of the Open, Bob was competing against 1018 other 60+ athletes from all over the world. After the five-week Open, the field was narrowed down to the top 200 competitors for a second round of competition. After that qualifier, the top 20 athletes were invited to compete in the 2015 CrossFit Games. To make into the top 200, and then into the top 20, were amazing accomplishments in themselves. But to walk away with a podium finish? Incredible!230lbthruster

After his come from behind win in Event 1, Bob had the rest of the CrossFit world (even the announcers) asking “Who is this Robert Caslin guy?” Everybody knows now. Bob absolutely dominated the first day of competition. After a tough Day 2, he came back and proved himself again on Day 3, securing his spot on the podium.

We could not be more proud of Bob and all of his accomplishments. He showed true sportsmanship all weekend long – whether it be cheering on his competitors after he had already finished a workout, or keeping his composure while he was struggling himself. He certainly represented CrossFit Southie well.It was great to see the countless hours of hardwork he had put into this all pay off.  We can’t wait to see what is next for Bob!

We know he will be back in 2016 better and stronger than ever. Congratulations, Bob! We love you!

Congrats Bob! That was fun to watch – especially the total domination of the Thruster event. A podium finish is unbelievably awesome.
