A Spicy Mixture

Just a reminder to get excited about the upcoming scavenger hunt followed by the anniversary party taking place on October 19th. It is a great way to meet new people, explore the city and get a workout in. We take amazingly awesome Crossfit pictures and videos during the day then they are shown on a big screen at the anniversary party. The entire day/night is a ton of fun so if you’re on the fence about either don’t be…just come!

October 19th is a big day. CrossFit City Line has invited us to participate in “Lift Up Luke”!The fundraiser was organized by Josh Everett to raise money for the Autism Tree Project Foundation, they help to diagnose and treat autism and educate parents. CrossFitters fromย  all over are completing “Lift Up Luke” at different boxes on Saturday, the 19th, they are calling it a “competition for a cause” and the WOD is:

AMRAP 5
4 Power Cleans 155/105
24 Double Unders
10 Pull Ups
CrossFit City Line just moved to a new large location in Watertown. Just a short ride on the Mass Pike! If you are interested in participating please click here.

Also, we are hosting the Southie Showdown and the more judges we have on hand the smoother it goes for everybody involved. It would be greatly appreciated if you would help us in any capacity the weekend of November 9th and 10th. Signing up to help will sure gain brownie points with your coaches and maybe gets you out of penalty burpees down the road (just kidding, not a chance!) but seriously click the link and sign up if you’re available, we are going to need all the help we can get!

STR: 225×3 (felt good, probably could have gone heavier, but I never do low bar back squats and don’t like going heavy in the morning)
    WOD: 16:40 (or thereabouts) RX

Must get better at linking C2B

    #205, should’ve gone heavier. Next time…

    10:12 L2, C2Bs felt off, but pistols were spot-on.

    Mobility-WODed with Chuck after, too

Low Bar Back Squat: 230×3 (5lb PR). DEFINITELY could’ve gone heavier but just not enough time today
WOD: 17:55 L2 / scaled the C2B reps to 15-10-5 (need major work on those) / Rx pistols
Spicy mixture indeed. And I think only about 3/4 of the C2B and 2/3 of the pistols would’ve passed muster…
Really looking forward to my 60-minute massage with Natalie tomorrow night!

LBBS 300 x 3 (8/5/13 275×2 failed on the third rep.) BIG TIME PR. I had a little more in the tank but ran out of time on the platform. #300 was tough but all three reps were solid. I’m curious to know at what weight I would have failed on the final rep.
WOD: DNF 2 rounds in 15:00 #115. C2B & Pistols. Evil combination for me.

STR: 300 lb. x 3 PR (will go to 315 next time) – Wilson and Sammy are now in the 300 x 3 club (Marc too!)

WOD: 18:24 Rx (lots of hiccups but glad to have RX’ed it)

Grip strength was the real challenge here.
    305×3 is a 10lb PR
